What class do I need?

We offer a variety of classes from healthcare providers, Lay Rescuers to Average individuals that simply want to learn to save a life. The best way to find out what class you need is to ask the entity requesting it. Generally speaking we will include some of the classes we take teach, with there description  to help you find the right class for you. Please note, this is for information only and ultimately it is you responsibility your responsibility to sign up for the correct class. We must disclose, we are NOT responsible if YOU sign up for the wrong class. The information we will provide will be based on our 5 years serving the Visalia and surrounding communities.

Our most popular class is BLS (Basic Life Support) for healthcare providers.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is the foundation for saving lives after cardiac arrest. This video-based, Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both in-facility and prehospital settings. This course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills.
After successfully completing the BLS course, students should be able to:

describe the importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival
  • describe all of the steps of the Chain of Survival and apply the BLS concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • recognize the signs of someone needing CPR
  • perform high-quality CPR on adults, children, and infants
  • describe the importance of early AED use and demonstrate using one
  • provide effective ventilations with a barrier device
  • describe the importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and perform as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR
  • describe the technique for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants.

BLS training is intended for healthcare professionals (certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed), including:
  • physicians
  • nurses
  • paramedics
  • emergency medical technicians
  • respiratory, physical, and occupational therapists
  • physician's assistants
  • residents or fellows
  • medical or nursing students in training

In addition, BLS training can be appropriate for first responders, such as police officers and firefighters, as well as for laypeople whose work brings them into contact with members of the public, such as school, fitness center, or hotel and restaurant employees.

What is an AED ?
The automated external defibrillator (AED) is a computerized medical device. An AED can check a person’s heart rhythm. It can recognize a rhythm that requires a shock. And it can advise the rescuer when a shock is needed. The AED uses voice prompts, lights and text messages to tell the rescuer the steps to take.
AEDs are very accurate and easy to use. With a few hours of training, anyone can learn to operate an AED safely. There are many different brands of AEDs, but the same basic steps apply to all of them. The AHA does not recommend a specific model.

Why is the website asking me to pay for my class, before I arrive?
Space is limited ! And the only way we will save your seat is if you pay for it first. We have tried to save seat for other students in the past based on their promise to attend, unfortunately the students would not arrive and serious students that really needed the class  could NOT attend because we save a seat for a students that was not serious. Also, from time to time, we might hire other instructors to teach our class, these instructors will charge us whether students show up or not. If we do not charge ahead of time, we would have to pay for now one to show up. That is the reason we must charge ahead of time, with this policy in place, we are able to keep our prices low.

Can I just show up the day of a class, without registering online first?
YES, you are welcome to show up to any of our classes, However,  We can NOT guarantee there will be an instructor or a seat waiting for you. We will only assign instructors to classes in which students have registered at our website first.  If you decide to come  to the class to pay for the class in person the Day of class, please follow these instructions:
1. Please send us a courtesy text at (559)372-6814 ( To verify is we have any seats available)
2. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early.
3. THE ONLY FOR OF PAYMENT AT OUR LOCATION IS CASH! We will not have change to give you so please take exact change. You will receive a receipt at the class.
4. All seats if NOT paid for through our website are FCFS no hold, sorry.

Do I really need a book?
YES!
Per the AHA policy, ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE THEIR OWN STUDENT MANUAL, BEFORE DURING AND AFTER THE CLASS. SHARING BOOKS IS NOT ALLOWED, NO EXCEPTIONS!
If you paid for your book at registration, you will receive it the day of your class BEFORE class begins. We do NOT ship books. If you paid for you book and wish to pick it up, you MAY text us at (559) 300-5998 to make arrangements to come pick it up. Most students just get their books the day of their class.

What are CEU's?
Continuing Education Units, Many Licensees are required to take continuing education in order to renew their licenses. BLS for healthcare providers (In class) does offer 4 CEU's. Please refer to your specific board regarding your requirements for your specific license, since all are different.  Also, If you do not pay for CEU's at registration, you will not receive them. You can however pay for them the day of the class or any day PRIOR to the day you take the class. It is very difficult and COSTLY to obtain your CEU's After the day of your class. For example, Bob took his class In January, but call in July wanting to obtain CEU credits for the class he took in 6 months earlier. It is NOT impossible, but the cost will NO LONGER be $10, the price will go up significantly and most students rather not pay the high cost.
Son if you want Ceu's PLEASE pay before during but NOT after your class.
At this time we only offer CEU's for these Licenses:

Medical Assistants (CMA), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Home Health Aides (HHA), Dentists (DDS or DMD), Dental Assistants (RDA), Dental Hygienists (RDH), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Paramedics (Medic), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), Psychiatric Technicians (Psych Tech), Occupational Therapists (OT), Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA), Pharmacists (RPh), Pharmacy Technicians (Ph Tech), Physician Assistants (PA), Physical Therapists (PT), and Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA)
****Diffrent Classes offer diffrent CEU's, Call for details!***

Do you offer group Discounts?
YES, please call for details!
Do you go mobile/Travel to our location?
We can, however we have an actual location in which we offer classes throughout the day ( 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), in order for us to go to you, we would have to close our location most if not all day. In this case, we can not offer a discount and will charge a travel fee. So, to keep prices low, we can offer students count from 8-16, a group discount if you come to us!
Do you offer Saturday and Evening Classes?
From time to time, depending on the supply and demand, we will offer Saturday/Evening classes. Usually, we offer Saturday classes for 8-16 student groups. Call for more details.
Why do Saturday and Evening classes cost more than Regular Monday to Friday 9-5pm classes?
From time to time we must hire other instructors or ask current instructors to stay longer hours and of course we must pay them more for this, this is the reason we must charge more, otherwise we would not be able to accommodate those students that can not come to our classes during regular business hours.

Whom do I contact for more help?
If you need help regarding Visalia CPR instructors, Policies and additional questions you may contact us via Phone at (559) 372-6814 or Via Email at [email protected] and for immediate response anytime you may text
( 559) 372-6814.
Any questions regarding AHA website you may go directly to their website at www.heart.org
We really hope that this information has been useful to you. We posted these Q & A section because these are questions almost every student asks and Most off the time students call during business hours, which means we are in class so it makes it difficult to  contact you and answer these questions in a timely manner. We understand your time is valuable and we thank you for taking a few minutes to read this.
We are always open to new suggestions or if there are any questions you do not see here but would like for us to add to this page, please fell free to contact us anytime.  Check back often as we add more information to this page!

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEARTSAVER CPR AED AND BLS PROVIDER COURSE?

THERE ARE A FEW DIFFERENCES AND WE SUGGEST YOU REFER TO AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATIONS WEBSITE FOR DETAILED DESCRIPTION, BUT ONE OF THE MAYOR DIFFERENCES IS BLS IS USUALLY TAKEN BY INDIVIDUALS IN THE MEDICAL/HOSPITAL FIELDS WHETHER THEY ARE ALREADY IN THAT FIELD OR WILL EVENTUALLY  WORK IN AND AROUND THAT FIELD. THAT ALSO INCLUDES DENTAL, PHYSICAL THERAPY, ETC.,  OR ANYONE THAT WILL PROVIDE HEALTHCARE TO ANOTHER INDIVIDUALS OR EMT, PARAMEDICS OR EMS .
WE HAVE NOTICE SOME OF THE SAME INDIVIDUALS TAKE THE HEARTSAVER CPR AED AS WELL BUT VERY RARELY. AGAIN, THE BEST WAY TO DETERMINE THE CLASS YOU NEED IS TO ASK YOUR JOB OR SCHOOL WHICH CLASS THEY WILL ACCEPT.
